The performance of Pedro Díaz proved critical in helping Beantown beat Newport News, 6-5. The Browns center fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jo Takahashi earned the win. Gustavo Hernández took the loss for Newport News. With the win, Beantown climbs to 1-2.

Beantown used a big swing from Bill Flynn to get the win. The right fielder walloped a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Browns up, 6-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Díaz said after the game.
