Niigata Breaks Through for First Win in Ambassador's Cup; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Ambassador's Cup, the Niigata Gigans put on their best show, beating the Mansfield Mohicans by a final score of 2-1. Lee Hale was special. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Niigata now trails Mansfield 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

Brett Moore, the 7th overall pick in the 2042 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Moore contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Niigata up, 2-1.

"The old adage is true," said Hale. "Good pitching stops good hitting."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sprinters Ballpark in Mansfield.
