Tovar Blasts Swamp Dragons, Oceanic Take Game 4, 8-4
|
The Mokule'ia Oceanic and the Osakasayama Swamp Dragons will take the Divisional to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Oceanic beat the Swamp Dragons, 8-4, at Swamp Dragons Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Mokule'ia third baseman Lorenzo Tovar was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3.
A key moment came with two out in the top of the seventh. That's when Tovar hit a fastball from Toki Takahashi for a 2-run home run, putting Mokule'ia up, 8-4.
"We're happy," Tovar told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at Lost Island Ballpark in Mokuleia.
