The Osakasayama Swamp Dragons wasted no time taking the lead in the Divisional, beating the Mokule'ia Oceanic at Lost Island Ballpark by the score of 4-1. The win gives Osakasayama a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Swamp Dragons right-hander Toyonobu Ohayashi threw 5.1 innings of 0-hit ball.

Osakasayama used a well-timed hit by Walt Nelligan to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Swamp Dragons ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I like what I saw today," said Osakasayama manager Shingen Okamoto, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lost Island Ballpark in Mokuleia.
