Grand Rapids Breaks Through for First Win in Championship; Now Trails 2-1
The Grand Rapids Rafters have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Niigata Gigans, winning, 8-2, at Grand Rapids Grounds. Rafters center fielder Andrew Lyle was 3-5 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rafters to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Championship.

Lyle was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 against the Gigans. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a run-scoring triple that put Grand Rapids in front, 1-0.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Lyle told the Grand Rapids Herald.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Grand Rapids Grounds in Grand Rapids.
