Becker, Bowheads Sink Wallbangers Again in Game 2
|
The Kivalina Bowheads moved to within one game of the Championship, downing the visiting Homer Wallbangers at The Sanctuary by a score of 6-3. Bowheads third baseman Paul Becker did some major damage. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Bowheads a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Becker hit a 3-run home run off Gabriel Gutiérrez. It propelled the Bowheads into the lead, 4-3.
"This is not a one-man show," said Becker. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Lions Ballpark in Homer.
