Kenai Breaks Through for First Win in Wild Card; Now Trails 2-1
The Kenai Traders have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Ketchikan Salmon, winning, 5-2, at Metros Ballpark. Traders right-hander Kikaku Nakagawa threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Traders to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Wild Card.

Sotatsu Nii, the Kenai catcher, contributed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 2-0, Traders. For the game, Nii went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Nakagawa said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Metros Ballpark in Kenai.
