Bellve Helps Ketchikan Take Wild Card Game 1
|
The Ketchikan Salmon started the Wild Card in style, downing the visiting Kenai Traders at Spectres Ballpark by a score of 7-5 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Salmon first baseman António Bellve hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice.
Ketchikan took a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Jesús Castillo hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Salmon fans to their feet.
"I like our moxie," said Salmon manager Ricardo Pérez.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Spectres Ballpark in Ketchikan.
