Mansfield Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2
The Mansfield Mohicans got a strong performance from pitcher José Hernández, who stymied the visiting Akron Ambers en route to a win, 8-2, in Game 3 of the Divisional. The Ambers could never get a bead on the right-handed Hernández, who threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The Mohicans now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

With two out in the bottom of the third, Paul Carruthers barreled up a cutter from Norris Neaves. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Mohicans in front, 6-1.

Carruthers called the win "a team effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sprinters Ballpark in Mansfield.
