Missionaries Even With Sun Dogs After Home Win
The Provo Missionaries defeated the Thornton Sun Dogs, 5-3, in Game 2 of the Wild Card. Doing his part was starter Pedro Molina, who threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The win moves Provo into a 1-1 tie with Thornton in the series.

Had Brian Taylor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Taylor hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Missionaries.

Taylor attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Sun Dog Field in Thornton.
