Locomotives Rally Past Braggarts to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
|
The Leeds Locomotives took the first game of the Wild Card in dramatic fashion, topping the Fayetteville Braggarts with a ninth-inning walk-off, 3-2 victory. Braggarts pitcher Pedro Sánchez had a productive, if futile, game. He threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball.
Júlio Sandoval was the walk-off hero for Leeds. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Locomotives designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Exhilarating win," said Sandoval.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rhino Park in Leeds.
