Shmoes Even With Nerv After Home Win
The Mexicali Shmoes and the Marduk Nerv will take the Wild Card to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Shmoes beat the Nerv, 9-7, at Shmoes Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Mexicali designated hitter Lewis Millman went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs.

Kawasaki, Japan-born Tokaji Suzuki came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Shmoes trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Mexicali on top.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Hidehira Ine said.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 8th , 2042 at GeoFront Grounds in Kawasaki.
