Battle 4-for-5, Leads Hilo to 6-3 Win
|
No one was more impactful than Mike Battle in the 6-3 Hilo win over Kobayashi. Battle, who is tied for 2nd in the HL in RBI with 67, was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The victory gives Hilo a record of 56-51.
Battle contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Hilo in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Battle took a cutter from Munro Torr and stroked the home run to right. His 28th home run of the season allowed the Hoops to leap in front, 2-1.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Battle.
