Nene Collect 6-5 Win Over Mahi-Mahi
In a tight contest at Kokua Gardens, the Waimalu Nene edged the Maui Mahi-Mahi by the score of 6-5. Waimalu first baseman Kang Ci, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Waimalu reliever Micheal McShane picked up the win. Johnny Brady took the loss for Maui. José Corral recorded the save, making him 1 for 1.

Waimalu needed the clutch hitting of Francisco Durán to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Nene on top, 6-5. For the game, Durán had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"They had a good approach," Maui skipper Eddy McBride said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."

With the victory, the Nene upped their record to 52-51.
