Another day, another victory for the red-hot Takaoka Shiko.
The Takaoka Shiko defeated the Ensenada Las Brujas Malvadas, 10-0, at The Shrine. Takaoka left fielder Silvian Janzen had a superb performance. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Narihira Ito got the win, improving to 10-4. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and no runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at The Shrine seemed to enjoy watching the Baja Cali League action.
"The guys come to the ballpark ready," said Shiko manager Ichizo Nakayama. "They're going out there and doing the simple things right."
Now 80-44, Takaoka has won 11 consecutive games.
