Vázquez Shines in 6-3 Magami Win
|
The Magami Ako downed the Salton Sea Kilmers, 6-3, at Kilmers Ballpark. Juan Vázquez led the way, going 4-for-4 for Magami. Ernesto Vélez, the winner, goes to 14-5. He allowed no runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Rafael González finished to wrap up his 9th save.
Magami used the stroke of Manuel López to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Ako ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Afterward, Salton Sea manager Powell Clark said: "Every team has a bad week."
The Ako now have a record of 59-66.
