Rapidos Blancos Get Hard-Earned Win

Gakidou right fielder Vicente Saldaña was sensational. He hit 2 home runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. San Luis Rio Colorado beat the Onryou, 4-3. Picking up his 8th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher John Curwen. The Rapidos Blancos, at 70-55, sit in third place in the Baja Cali League Mexican.
San Luis Rio Colorado used the timely hitting of Gerry Schwer to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rapidos Blancos on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Schwer.
