The Takaoka Shiko beat the National City Bankers, 7-2. Takaoka pitcher and Minakuchi, Japan, native Narihira Ito led the way. With the win, the Shiko have a record of 75-44.

Early in the game, right fielder Yoshisada Shimizu had a 3-run home run for Takaoka. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Shiko on top, 3-0.

"Narihira is good at sticking to his strengths," said Takaoka manager Ichizo Nakayama.
