The Magami Ako beat the San Luis Rio Colorado Rapidos Blancos, 4-1, at Graviton High. Starting pitcher Jaime Gaona was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Gaona, now 7-15, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The 4th-place Ako now have a win-loss record of 55-64.

Magami designated hitter Paul Briggs contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 99th hit of the season and put the Ako ahead, 2-0.

"Jaime was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Magami manager Hsin Xiao.
