Ewa Beach Imperialists starter Mike Russell was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Hilo Hoops, 4-1. Jim MacElligot snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-3 on the season. Naruhiko Kogawa suffered the loss. The win puts Ewa Beach at 63-40 this season.

The Imperialists got a big at-bat from right fielder Falco Olthuis. For the game, Olthuis went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Ewa Beach a 2-1 lead.

"Mike knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Ewa Beach manager Jonathan Cook.
