The Kobayashi Fireflies topped the Kilauea Volcanoes, 8-2, in Hawaiian League action at Blacksnakes Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kobayashi pitcher Munro Torr. Torr, the winner, moves to 6-6. He threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 5 walks. Domingo Serrano recorded the save, making him 1 for 3.

In the bottom of the first, 21-year old left fielder Sonny Brooks hit a run-scoring triple. The 8th triple of the season for the Kobayashi left fielder put the Fireflies on top, 1-0.

"It's still just a game," said Brooks, "whether you win or lose."

The Fireflies, at 50-52, inhabit third place in the Hawaiian League Ninja.
