The Kobayashi Fireflies spoiled a good performance by Yasu shortstop Vicente Jiménez, bumping off Yasu, 7-6, at Field of the Storks. Jiménez was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With the win over Yasu, the Fireflies improved to 49-52.

Kobayashi needed the clutch hitting of Corey Smith to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fireflies on top, 7-5. For the game, Smith had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
