Monsters Notch 4-1 Win Versus Autobots
|
The Kauai Monsters earned a win at Brewers Ballpark, stopping the Atsumi Autobots, 4-1. Starting pitcher Tomás Blanco played a big role in his team's success. The Monsters are now 60-39.
The Autobots had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Monsters going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher Hildo van Bennekom came to the plate. van Bennekom hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 curveball from Atsumi hurler Vincente Salazar. It was van Bennekom's 2nd home run of the year.
"Watch and learn," said van Bennekom. "This is what good pitching looks like."
