The Shirakawa Halberds withstood a fine game by Waimalu designated hitter Sinclair Krijger at Halberds Ballpark, to upend the Nene, 5-4. Krijger belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The last-place Halberds own a record of 34-64.

Shirakawa got a knockout punch from Darryl Blackwell. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The crowd was raucous," said Blackwell.
