Monsters Dealt 2-1 Loss by Maui
Starting pitcher Pablo Acevedo gave the Maui Mahi-Mahi a rock-solid effort. The Perth Amboy, New Jersey native helped his team defeat the Kauai Monsters, 2-1, at Kokua Gardens. The win went to Rainer Aarnoutse in relief, making him now 1-2. Alejandro Reyes took the loss for Kauai. Getting the save was Hidehira Otani, his 10th.

The Mahi-Mahi got a big at-bat from first baseman Spencer Scott. For the game, Scott went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Maui a 2-1 lead.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Kauai manager Hugh Watson.

With the win, Maui goes to 41-55, while the Monsters fall to 59-37.
