Imperialists Absorb 4-2 Home Loss
|
The Yasu Storks weathered an outstanding game by Ewa Beach third baseman Tom Frew to topple the Imperialists, 4-2. Frew slugged 2 home runs. Francis Bowditch picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-7 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 2 in 6 innings, while yielding 1 run. Norberto Méndez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities.
Emílio Flores's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Yasu. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 3rd and Yasu trailing 1-0, the designated hitter reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Flores said after the game.
Yasu is 4th in the Hawaiian League Ninja with a record of 42-54.
