The Lana'i City Pineapples picked up a win at Blacksnakes Ballpark, knocking off the Kobayashi Fireflies, 5-2. On the mound for Lana'i City was right-hander Juan Rúbio. He played a key role in the triumph. Ye Yong earned the save, his 2nd. Lana'i City currently is in 5th place in the Hawaiian League Archipelago at 38-56.

Lana'i City catcher Graham Jackson landed a blow when he belted a solo home run in the top of the fifth. It was his 13th home run of the season. With it, the Pineapples took a 2-0 lead.

"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Lana'i City manager Dale Orcutt.
