The Maui Mahi-Mahi topped the Waikiki Coconuts, 6-3, in Hawaiian League action at Ballpark of Sidney. The standout performance belonged to Maui pitcher and San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic, native Manny Gallegos. With the win, Maui goes to 40-53, while the Coconuts fall to 51-42.
Connor MacLaren helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Mahi-Mahi.
"We'll pocket this win," said Gallegos, "and then go after another."
