Hoops Get Better of Volcanoes, 3-2
|
Hilo registered a win at Hilo Ballpark by beating the Kilauea Volcanoes, 3-2. Pitcher Sadao Takahashi was one reason why the Hoops triumphed. The winning pitcher was Takahashi, now 6-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Sumio Kanno, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Making an impact for the home team was Sean Toman. In the bottom of the seventh, the 21-year old third baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-1, Hoops.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Kilauea manager Chris Simpson.
Today's win puts Hilo at 47-44, while Kilauea falls to 22-69.
