Lana'i City Pineapples starter Juan Rúbio pitched a strong game against the Ewa Beach Imperialists at Rison Grounds, leading the Pineapples to victory, 4-2. Rúbio yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-10. The Pineapples go to 37-53, putting them 4th in the Hawaiian League Archipelago.

Kazuhiko Tenno had a big 2-run home run for the Pineapples in the top of the fifth inning. With Lana'i City leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Ryuichi Takano and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pineapples ahead, 4-0.

"I felt good up there," said Tenno. "I saw the ball well."
