The Kauai Monsters weathered an outstanding game by Waimalu first baseman Matt Dalton to topple the Nene, 7-6. Dalton went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. At 55-36, Kauai is in first place in the Hawaiian League Archipelago.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 6-6, 22-year old second baseman Sul-shik Im won it for Kauai. With the bases loaded, Im hit a full count fastball from Micheal McShane for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 7-6 win.

"This game was intense," Im said, postgame.
