Lana'i City third baseman Cade Ingram was instrumental in helping the Pineapples triumph, 5-2, over the Mauna Loa Vulcans. Ingram was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Lorenzo Leyva. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-2. Frank Comelay earned the save for Lana'i City.
Lana'i City took a 5-1 lead on Ingram's 16th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Wanjala Dau in the top of the sixth, propelled Lana'i City to the win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Ingram said.
The 4th-place Pineapples are now 36-50, the Vulcans 51-35.
