Sioux Falls Makes It 6 Straight with 3-2 Win
|
The Sioux Falls Lakota took Thornton pitcher Xisto Tamayo's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Sun Dog Field. The final score had Sioux Falls getting past the Sun Dogs, 3-2. Tamayo went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 6. Ian Benstead, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Sioux Falls has run its win streak to 6 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Sadaharu Ando? The 25-year old second baseman Ando stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put Sioux Falls up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.
"The most important thing is that we won," Ando said.
