The Lincoln Emancipation took on the West Valley City Grizzlies at Ballpark of West Valley City.
The Lincoln Emancipation grabbed a win, 7-5, over the West Valley City Grizzlies at Ballpark of West Valley City. Lincoln designated hitter Stu Dillard was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Lu Au, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-10. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Jean-Pierre Thomas finished to wrap up his 10th save.
Lincoln used the timely hitting of Tung Thum to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Emancipation on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Dillard.
At 67-72, Lincoln is in 4th place in the Rocky Mountain League North.
