Emancipation Topple Puckmen, 3-1, as Dillard Shines
|
The Lincoln Emancipation cut down the Namuko Puckmen by the score of 3-1, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Stu Dillard. Dillard was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles for the Emancipation. Gary Ross, the winner, goes to 7-9. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts over 8 innings. Jean-Pierre Thomas earned his 9th save in 9 chances.
Lincoln took a 3-1 lead on Dillard's 7th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Philip Ruth in the top of the seventh, propelled Lincoln to the win.
