Anguirus Lose, 9-5; No End to Nosedive

Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Thornton Sun Dogs and Shizuoka Anguirus.
José Alnozo left his imprint on the 9-5 Thornton win against the Shizuoka Anguirus. Alnozo, who is tied for 10th in the RML with a .286 batting average, was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Reliever Félix Rosa picked up the win. His record improves to 5-1. Juan Torres took the loss.
Thornton got a big at-bat from Bowling Green, Kentucky native José Soto, who in the bottom of the second hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 35th double of the season and put the Sun Dogs ahead, 4-0.
"If it can go wrong, it will go wrong," said Ward Davis, the Shizuoka manager.
Shizuoka has now lost 8 in a row.
