Starting pitcher Nathan Comyn was a major factor in the 3-1 Provo Missionaries triumph over the West Valley City Grizzlies. Comyn picked up the win for Provo, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 13-7. The first-place Missionaries are now 70-57, the Grizzlies 62-65.
Enrique Rivera had a big 2-run double for the Missionaries in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Provo trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Miguel Alvarado, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2040 draft, and swatted a double to center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Missionaries ahead, 2-1.
Provo manager Kumanosuke Kawano commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
