Puckmen Come Up Short at Racine, 1-0
|
The Racine Lakers claimed a close win over the Namuko Puckmen, due in large part to Connor Sonnborn. The Racine right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. Sonnborn got the win, improving to 8-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Kevin Brickey, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 18th save.
Racine took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Quinton Thompson hit a clutch solo home run to bring Lakers fans to their feet.
"This was a game where every at-bat, every pitch counted," said Thompson.
With the win, Racine raised its record to 69-56.
