In a low-scoring tilt between the Glendale Skyelanders and the Niigata Gigans, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Víctor Peña was the difference-maker. The Glendale right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The save went to Félix González, number 6 for him. The Skyelanders, at 59-65, sit in last place in the Rocky Mountain League West.
The Skyelanders got a gift in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they were leading 2-0. With one out and the bases loaded, Seung-hak Chin reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-0, Glendale.
Peña said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
