Sun Dogs Handle Iowa City, Snag 3-0 Win
The Thornton Sun Dogs, behind a great outing from Toshimichi Ohayashi, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2037 draft, defeated the Iowa City Kingpins, 3-0, at Sun Dog Field. Jin-haeng Yon picked up the save for Thornton, his 28th of the year. Iowa City has now lost 4 straight.

The Kingpins had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Sun Dogs going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 34-year old second baseman Alfonso Gonzáles came to the plate. Gonzáles hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 fastball from Iowa City hurler Ken Mizuno. It was Gonzáles's 8th home run of the year.

"Toshimichi showed what he's made of," said Thornton manager Mark Richardson.
