|
Sioux Falls pitcher Pedro Arreola had a large part in his team beating the Yokohama Plumbers, 5-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Arreola, now 12-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The third-place Lakota now have a record of 60-57.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Qi-chen Zhào? The Sioux Falls second baseman had a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Lakota on top, 4-0. For the game, Zhào had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Arreola told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
