Grizzlies Curb Fighting Scotts, 3-2

In a low-scoring tilt between the West Valley City Grizzlies and the Henderson Fighting Scotts, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Thomas Teall was the difference-maker. The West Valley City right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Brenton Walker, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Denny Jones picked up his 2nd save of the season.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Grizzlies had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the seventh, when designated hitter Wes Piper hit a run-scoring single. The single came off César Alfonso and made the score 3-2, Grizzlies. Piper was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"I like winning," Teall told the West Valley City Observer. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
The setback makes Henderson 65-53.
