Lakers Edge Past Rafters, 2-1
|
The Racine Lakers and Grand Rapids Rafters put on a pitchers' duel.
The Racine Lakers got a stellar effort from pitcher Melchior Lohse, helping Racine score a win over the visiting Grand Rapids Rafters, 2-1. Racine leads the Rocky Mountain League North by 2 games.
Racine took a 2-1 lead on Miguel Bernal's 3rd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Bernal hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Grand Rapids pitcher Jong-pil Song visibly frustrated.
Lohse attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
