The West Valley City Grizzlies topped the Glendale Skyelanders, 3-1, in Rocky Mountain League action at Skyelanders Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of West Valley City pitcher Jorge Cantú. At 54-57, the Grizzlies are currently 5th in the Rocky Mountain League West.
West Valley City used a clutch at-bat from Galtero Alboreto to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Cantú.
