Autobots Lose Late to Vulcans
The Mauna Loa Vulcans beat the Atsumi Autobots, 4-2. Mauna Loa pitcher and Havana, Cuba, native Mario Valentín led the way. The win was credited to 21-year old right-handed pitcher Gary Graham in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Carl Oglethorpe took the loss. Robbie Lane earned the save for Mauna Loa, his 21st.

Mauna Loa used the timely hitting of Cliff Braams to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vulcans on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Braams.

At 49-34, the Vulcans are currently second in the Hawaiian League Archipelago.
