|
Alejandro Solano, who is tied for 9th in the HL in quality starts with 9, propelled his team to victory over the Shirakawa Halberds. The final score was 2-1, Ewa Beach. Jim MacElligot earned save number 6 this season. The Imperialists go to 50-31, putting them second in the Hawaiian League Aloha.
Luis Castro had a big solo home run for the Imperialists in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Ewa Beach leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mark Hagood and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Imperialists on top, 2-0.
"I like our mental toughness," said Ewa Beach manager Jonathan Cook.
