Coconuts Improve to 49-33 with 3-2 Win
|
The Waikiki Coconuts did just enough to sneak past the Osakasayama Swamp Dragons, 3-2, at Ballpark of Sidney. Waikiki pitcher Kian Burke, in particular, had a standout performance. Toshikasu Ikeda finished to wrap up his 8th save. The Coconuts, at 49-33, sit in third place in the Hawaiian League Aloha.
Right Fielder Eduardo Rodríguez made an impact for Waikiki, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Rick McPherson in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Rodríguez went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Burke.
