Halberds Score Late, Clip Oceanic, 4-3
|
The Shirakawa Halberds beat the Mokule'ia Oceanic, 4-3, at Halberds Ballpark. Darryl Blackwell, in particular, was impressive. He went 5 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Rowan Braddock, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The Halberds are now 26-53.
Kantaro Kouno was the walk-off hero for Shirakawa. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Halberds second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Kouno. "Maybe this win will help."
