Getting an impressive start from Manny Gallegos, Maui beat Mauna Loa by the score of 3-1. Picking up his 6th save was 21-year old left-handed pitcher Hidehira Otani. Maui is 5th in the Hawaiian League Archipelago with a record of 33-45.

Maui used the clutch hitting of Terry Witt to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mahi-Mahi ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Manny was strictly business," said Maui field general Eddy McBride.
