Swamp Dragons Trip Nene, 6-5, in Extra Innings
|
The Osakasayama Swamp Dragons outlasted the Waimalu Nene, 6-5, in 13 innings. Walt Nelligan played a key role, going 4-for-6 for Osakasayama. Osakasayama reliever Yoshihiro Araki was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Lawrence Hayes. The Nene, at 38-42, have lost 5 straight games.
In the bottom of the 13th, with the score tied, Nelligan hammered a solo home run to win it for Osakasayama.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Nelligan.
